Raiffeisen Bank International names new head of investment banking

Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) has appointed Harald Kröger as head of investment banking, effective 1 October.

As part of this hire, Kröger will take over the management of the group investment banking division at RBI.

The appointment is subject to the approval of the supervisory board of Raiffeisen Centrobank (RCB), of which he is and will remain CEO.

Kröger joined Raiffeisen in 2004, managed numerous group-wide projects and was ultimately division head in risk management.

In May 2019, he joined RCB. The integration process of RCB into RBI has been underway since June and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

He succeeds Matthias Renner, who has headed the division since 2012 and will retire at the end of the year.

Lukasz Januszewski, member of the management board responsible for markets and investment banking at RBI, said: "With Harald Kröger, we appoint an outstanding manager whose customer orientation and product competence recommend him for the current and future challenges of this division.”

“His experience in risk management and his position as CEO of RCB qualify him in the best possible way to further develop our investment banking business and manage the integration of RCB into RBI.”

"On behalf of the entire Management Board, I would like to thank Matthias Renner warmly for his excellent work. Under his leadership, significant growth was achieved in all key success parameters, the product range in customer business was continuously expanded and product competence was constantly improved,” Januszewski added.
